LEGIT: Canadian Immigration for Same-Sex Partners

LEGIT was founded as the Lesbian & Gay Immigration Task Force in December 1991 in Vancouver, B.C. by a group of Canadian lesbians and gay men, and their partners who did not have landed immigrant status in Canada.

LEGIT is an all-volunteer organization that provides Canadian immigration information and support to same-sex partners.

On June 28, 2002, same-sex partners were officially recognized as part of the Family Class, which means Canadians can now sponsor their partners.
