The study, undertaken by the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Youth Program at Central Toronto Youth Services, draws on the voices and experiences of lesbian, gay and bisexual youth, and provides the first detailed picture of the current situation for these young people in residential services for youth. This study is based upon in-depth interviews with youth, frontline workers and managers who are deeply concerned for the well-being of their clients, there are systemic barriers to equitable services for lesbian, gay and bisexual youth. This report recommends changes in the delivery of services to these young people. It seeks to contribute toward the safety, well-being and future of lesbian, gay and bisexual youth, and to the agencies who are mandated to provide them with a safe bed.
