Unitarian Universalists for Lesbian,Gay,Bisexual & Transgender Concerns

Hosted by the First Universalist Church of Denver.

Here is information from Eddy Carroll, a Convo 2000 organizer:

Convo 2000 will take place in Denver Colorado, my adopted home for the past six years. It is a vibrant city with a rich cultural life, nestled on the high plains of Colorado with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains. With a metro population 2.25 million people and an very active B/G/L/T community, you will have no trouble finding things to do here.

The conference hotel is the Marriott South East where we have a room rate of $60 per night, double occupancy. Please contact Josephine Hehnke toll free at 1-888-469-4845 to make your hotel reservation. She can also assist you with your travel arrangements.

The hotel is a mile down the road from The First Universalist Church. The Cherry Creek shopping district is also easily reached from the conference hotel And many of you may want to add a ski trip to this year's Convo plans.

The Rev. Dr. Carter Heyward will be the Key Note Speaker for Convo 2000. Heyward is a professor at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has been addressing social justice concerns for many years. Through lectures and books, she has addressed the importance of the intertwining of justice and love, speaking to the necessity of acting out of love through speaking out for justice.

Music will play an important part of Convo 2000. Khrysso a member of the CUUPS continental board and the UU musicians Network is helping with developing our musical effort.  We also will have the Convo choir returning this year under the direction of Keith Arnold from Jefferson Unitarian Church with assistance from Michael Gilbert and Toni Tollerud.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at Convo 2000. Consider this a personal invitation to attend.  Come experience the Queen City of the Rockies,.as well as my spiritual home, First Universalist.

The conference will take place from February 25th through the 27th, in Denver, Colorado, at the First Universalist Church.

Please complete a separate registration form for each person attending the conference and return it by February 1, 2000 to avoid a late fee.

Return it with payment to The First Universalist Church of Denver Attn.: Registrar Convo 2000 at the address shown below. You must enclose payment with the registration form. A confirmation letter will be sent to all registrants who register by February 1. 2000.
