Date: Fri, 13 Mar 1998 02:36:40 +1100 From: Queers for Reconciliation Subject: UPDATE: QUEERS FOR RECONCILIATION Queers for Reconciliation had a very sucessful entry in the February 28 21st Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade. Nearly 400 people took part in the float, one of the largest in the parade. We received a standing ovation from the Bobby Goldsmith viewing stands, and were a huge success, despite poor coverage in the telecast of the parade. There were large numbers of Aboriginal people involved, some of whom had travelled from as far away as Queensland and Tasmania. There was a large contingent from Melbourne, who brought their own banner. There was also a group from Canberra.
