The couple applied over two years ago and were initially refused permission to stay together by the Home Office. Just days before his appeal the Home Office backed down and granted him 12 months leave to remain based on his homosexual relationship. Mark Watson of the Stonewall Immigration Group stated "We are very pleased to be celebrating another success. This time last year no couple had been allowed to stay based on their relationship but since the launch of our Compelling Circumstances campaign last April 12 couples have now been successful. " ENDS For further information please contact Mark Watson on 0171 336 8860 Notes: The Stonewall Immigration Group has almost 500 couples who wish to remain together, of these over 100 have now made applications to the Home Office to stay in the UK based on their relationships.
