Date: Sat, 24 Jan 1998 22:15:58 +0000 From: David Subject: The BOLTON SEVEN OutRage! would like to thank those who have already written to the Bolton Seven's solicitor.to express their solidarity. We do, however, need many more such letters if we are to have a reasonable chance of dissuading the judge from imposing custodial sentences. Please devote a few minutes this weekend to drafting a short letter to: Janet Cragg c/o Robert Lazar, 159 Princess Road Manchester M14 4RE Email 106475.3436@compuserve.com If you wish to save time, please copy, paste and print the 'standard' type letter at the end of this email, adding your own name and address. Modify it as you will. I can assure you that the Seven are extremely grateful for the support that has already been given from this country, from mainland Europe and from other parts of the world. Thank you, David Allison outrage@cygnet.co.uk Dear Ms Cragg, I write to express my support for the Bolton Seven and my horror that in the final years of this century it is still possible for the law to dictate what consenting adults can and cannot do in their bedroom. Given that there is every probability that the age of consent will be equalised at 16 within the next few months, the criminalising of someone who was seventeen and a half years old at the time of the 'offence' is a a nonsense. The arrest and convicting of a group of people for having consensual sex is an appalling intrusion into what should be their private lives and a denial of basic civil liberties. That some, at least, of the Seven risk prison sentences is a denial of justice. Yours sincerely,
