Subject: Bank of Scotland threaten to sue OutRage!

        Saturday's OutRage! action protesting against the Bank of Scotland's
proposed joint venture with the American extreme right-wing evangelist
Pat Robertson was well-reported in Monday's "Scotsman";
and a full-page article on the deal appeared in Wednesday's "Independent".

        The Bank of Scotland's Legal Department then rang OutRage! on
Thursday, 15th April, complaining that the opposition by the Scottish
churches is less than we stated.  --  Interestingly, they did NOT
complain of any other inaccuracies:  on the proposed deal, Pat Robertson, 
his fascist opinions and quotations, or the opposition from Scottish councils.

        If any errors of fact in our article are confirmed,
we will, of course, amend our website.  --  In the meantime,
a note to this effect has been added to the relevant page.
