Eva Dahlgren is by many regarded as the foremost female rockstar of Sweden. Her album 'En blekt blondins hjaerta' (The heart of a faded blonde) from 1991 was sold in 450,000 copies, which is quite impressive in a contry with about 8 million inhabitants. Her solo career goes back to the 80's and she has won the heart of a large devoted audience of all ages and both sexes. A few months ago she performed together with the Finnish classical conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen at a successful concert at The Central Station in Stockholn. As an artist she is always looking for new forms of expression. For several years rumours about Dahlgren's homosexuality have circulated in the Swedish gay and lesbian community, but up to now she has avoided all discussions of this side of her personal life. However, now her days in the closet have come to an end. Yeasterday she and her future wife handed in their application for registration of their partnership to the local authorithes in Stockholm, accompanied by among others author Louise Boije af Gennaes who herself made her love to another women publicly know last year. The couple has lived together for more than one year. Efva Attling has earlier been married twice. She is the mother of two children from her last marriage with the singer and composer Niklas Stroemstedt. No final date for the couples Registered Partnership ceremony has yet been published, but they have announced that they will celebrate their honeymoon in Asia. The event is expected to get much attention from mainstream media. According to the RFSL secretariate The Swedish federation of gay and lesbian rights has been contacted several times today to comment on the couples announcement. Bjoern Skolander skolander@bahnhof.se
