Swedish Politician to Come Out on Television

According to Dagens Nyheter 28 March 1995 Andreas Carlgren member of
parliament for the Center Party will come out on national television
tomorrow:

- I want to initiate a public discussion, which does not primarily deal with
my own person as much as with an important sociatal question.

That's the explanation MP Andreas Carlgren (Center Party) gives as to why he
has decided to talk about his homosexuality on the TV 2 programme "Fyra maen
och en faarfiol".

Carlgren is 2nd vice-chairman of the party and is often mentioned as a
successor to Olof Johansson, the present chairman of the Center Party.

Carlgren says to a news agency:
I have thoroughly considered what I am doing. I use personal experience to
throw light upon an important sociatal question - my own experience servs as
an example.
