HEADLINE: Swedes seek homosexual weddings


    STOCKHOLM: A Swedish parliamentary committee proposed yesterday that
homosexuals be allowed to marry but stopped short of granting them the same full
rights as heterosexual couples. Under the proposed law homosexuals, including
 lesbians,  would be able to wed in a ceremony similar to a civil marriage, but
the partners would not be allowed to adopt children or have children by
artifical insemination.
