"De Gay Krant" (The Gay Paper), founded in december 1979 is a
bi-weekly, commercially run publication aimed at the gay
community in Holland and abroad. The paper is written in Dutch
although in each issue there are extracts in English from some
of the articles. Also there is a column in Afrikaans on a
regular basis.

Each issue contains an extensive listing of gay venues in the
Benelux countries together with a map of Amsterdam city centre
showing gay venues there.

The Gay Krant also publishes the glossy "Magayzine" and runs
its own "Gaytel" information service, based on the French
"Minitel" system.
