A new organisation, going by the name of 'Zaqzim Entertainment', is ready to join the Indonesian Lesbian and Gay Network. Its address is: Baladewa-Rusun Tanah Tinggi, Blok VI/203, Jakarta Pusat. Their first activity will be to stage a programme, 'A Million Stars Contest', from 6 June to 25 July in the Senior discotheque (Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Cempaka Putih, Jakarta Pusat). 2. A new political party, the Democratic People's Party (Partai Rakyat Demokrasi, PRD) has as one of its platforms the protection of the basic rights of lesbians, gays and waria. Its address is: Jln. Dede Oetomo (GN) attended the APCASO (Asia/Pacific Council of AIDS Service Organizations) COR (Council of Representatives) meeting in Manila from 5 to 7 June 1996. 2. The 13th "Nusantara AIDS Memorial Evenings" (part of the International Candlelight Memorial), was conducted on 19 May 1996, jointly in 28 cities in Indonesia, with the theme, 'Raising hope together'. GN, alone, conducted its activity for this memorial on 20 May. PUBLICATION 1. GN No.46 has appeared and been circulated. 2. There was a request from the gay Dutch magazine 'Homologie' for photographs to illustrate a profile of Indonesian waria [transgendered people], and to this end two waria from Surabaya have already responded and will be represented in the profile. PUBLIC RELATIONS The back cover of GN magazine no.40 and the front cover of no.41, were reproduced in the magazine 'Inside Indonesia' (no.46, March 1996), to illustrate a piece by Dede Oetomo about the gay movement in Indonesia in that issue.
