NETWORK-RELATED NEWS 1. The scheduling for private consultations with our individual activist in Jakarta, Yohanes, has changed since February '96 and is now: Monday-Friday 22.00-24.00 wib (West Indonesian time). 2. Information about meeting places: PEKALONGAN: - The Fight for Independence Monument (Juang '45), mixed gay/transgender/female sex workers, busy on Thursday and Saturday nights. - the station is rather quiet because there are frequent raids. CIPANAS - the discotheque at the Cipanas market, third floor CIANJUR - at the station, mixed, every night - at the "President" picture theatre, every night GRESIK - the harbour of Gresik (inside), every Friday and on Saturday night, before 19.00 wib (West Indonesian time). KEDIRI - in front of the Brawijaya stadium, mixed, every night, busy on Saturday nights. - in front of the Kowak swimming pool. - on the alun-alun (the main town square) - the pilgrimage site Pamenang, on the night leading into every Selasa Kliwon (a particular Monday night in the 35 day Javanese calendar) and Jum'at Legi (a particular Thursday night in the 35 day Javanese calendar) MADIUN - at the front of Madiun's alun-alun (village square) - behind the Wilis stadium, Pendowo Street. JAYAPURA - the picture theatre "Imbi", every Sunday at 15.30 wit (East Indonesian time). - the discotheque "Paramount", every Saturday night and ladies night (Tuesday and Thursday nights) 3. Hiwaria (transgender association) Kediri had its monthly meeting on 4 March 1996. HEALTH 1. The Hotline Surya, Surabaya held a seminar and workshop, "Ethics and HIV/AIDS" on 12-13 March 1996 at the campus of Airlangga University, Surabaya. Representatives from the groups Gaya Nusantara, GAYa PRIAngan and IPOOS attended. PUBLISHING 1. "Gaya Nusantara" number 44 has been published, and "Gaya Nusantara" number 45 is currently being produced. 2. The Citra Usadha Foundation in Bali (Yayasan Citra Usadha Indonesia) has published the February 1996 edition of its bulletin "Citra Usadha Information and Communication" (Citra Usadha Informasi dan Komunikasi). The bulletin contains a specifically gay and transgender column which is being taken care of by members of Gaya Dewata. PUBLIC RELATIONS 1. Gaya Nusantara's address has been entered into information about HIV/AIDS in Indonesian language on the Internet which is organised by PACT in Jakarta, at the URL address: http://www.rad.net.id/aids 2.
