Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1993 14:45:07 -0400 (EDT) From: YATIMDA@HUGSE1.HARVARD.EDU For those of us who are internationally-oriented, here's some news from Indonesia: The Indonesian Gay Society will organize the First Indonesian Lesbian and Gay Conference in Yogyakarta, mid-December 1993. The Global Association of Lesbian and Gay Asians (Tokyo) has appointed "Gaya Nusantara" to host the Fifth Asian Lesbian and Gay Conference in Surabaya, August 1994. For your information, Indonesia is the first Asian country to have a gay/lesbian movement, but this will be the first time a gay/lesbian national and international conference/congress will be held. Topics planned to be discussed include: educating the general public about homosexuality through the media, AIDS education, the impact of (gay) sex tourism, and exploring historical and cultural roots of homosexuality.
