Hi everybody: Deputy Secretary for Home Affairs, Stella Hung, told the Home Affairs Panel today that they have already received more than FOUR THOUSAND submissions! We have NO idea what those are, but a reasonable guess is that a major portion of that must be some kind of form letters. I gathered that the gay community has been mobilizing others to sign forms similar to form letter, but that number is probably under 1000. I have no idea where the other three thousands come from. I guess there are 2 possibilities: 1. it's mobilized by religious groups against legislation; OR 2. it's mobilized by international gay community supporting legislation. Does anyone has any clue?? If not, please think of some contingency plan just in case the three thousands are from conservative forces! I URGE EVERYONE TO WORK HARDER IN THE NEXT 2 DAYS!! please send views to Home Affairs Branch: by fax: 25916002 via email: http://www.enmpc.org.hk/legco/special/eo/forum/ OR ericchow@hknet.com Rumours all around-- some said that the govt would legislate against both family status and sexuality discrimination; there are also rumour saying govt would legislate against family status discrimination, leaving GBL behind. Anyway, better be safe than be sorry! regards, Eric
