Date: May 20, 1994 [ Send replies to 3RQPGDJ@CMUVM.BITNET only ] The American Family Association, a homophobic "traditional family values" group, of Tupelo, MS, has sent a letter to the pastors of churches near IKEA stores in the U.S. In the letter they ask the pastors/congregations/individuals to take action and call or write the IKEA location in their respective area to protest IKEA's recent advertisement of the gay couple doing a joint furniture purchase. They ask to "specifically, request that IKEA stop running the advertisement featuring the homosexual couple and ask them [IKEA] to make a public announcemnt of that." It is important to support IKEA's advertisement campaign and express our support and appreciation for their courage to recognize the queer market segment in a positive way. Write to or call the IKEA location near you.
