Sr. Caddie Lac DeVil, Secretary of the Abbey along with others, including Washington State Ms. Leather Eileen Fix, will be in the Cage of Seattle Leatherman, Aubrey Hart Sparks, on Easter Sunday, in support of the decision and to protest the Catholic Church's stand against the Gays and Lesbians of San Francisco. This event can be viewed on-line at THE CAGE located at www.leatherdaddy.com. Viewers can participate via e-mail that will be posted on-line as part of the event and can e-mail the City of San Francisco's Board of Supervisors to show support for the president they set for the rest of our cities. On Easter Sunday 1979, three men dressed in Nun's habits set out to promulgate Universal joy and to Expiate stigmatic Guilt. Twenty years later this small group has spread world wide and those three Nuns and the new converts have raise over $200,00 in the Bay area for AIDS and human rights. So fitting of the work of this organization, they have earned a bit of a celebration, so on Easter Sunday The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI) planed to throw a block party to thank those who have supported them over the past twenty years. The Arch diocese of San Francisco tried to oppress the festivities by demanding the city board of supervisors pull the permit that allowed the Sisters there constitutional right to assembly. Calling the Sisters Party akin to letting the Neo-Nazis hold a rally on Passover they claimed the Sisters were mocking the church on their most holy day. This past week the board of supervisors in a 9-2 vote upheld the permit for the Sisters anniversary. An official statement from the San Francisco SPI Chapter on the event can be found at www.thesisters.org. The response of the of a even further right sect of the Catholic Church called for a boycott of the City of San Francisco. So if the Catholics are standing against the city it is time the Gay and lesbian communities join together in support of the city that stood by our constitutional rights. This year make your summer vacation to the gay supportive city of San Francisco.
