While fifty percent of our net profits are donated to the Seattle Foundation, the other fifty percent are available to qualified 501c(3) non-profit organizations. Habitat Espresso has already donated more than $9,000 to the Seattle Foundation, Chicken Soup Brigade and Childhaven's Crisis Nursery. Grant requests are due by October 15th, 1998. Habitat will make its grants annually after taxes in March 2000. Grant requests should contain: - A general mission statement for your organization - A brief description of the project that you plan to fund and how you will measure its success. - Amount of funding requested and brief description of how it will be used. - A description of how your organization might work with Habitat Espresso to broaden the awareness and success of your charitable mission. - A description of how your organization might help Habitat Espresso and giving.org fulfill their mission. - Contact information including e-mail. Requests should be no more than one to two pages in length. Brochures can be included separately. Our preference is to support creative projects that directly support the Capitol Hill community (primarily) or greater Seattle. Our selection process will be as follows: - Habitat employees will review all requests and select the best five to ten - Customers during a two week period (approximately November 1st to 15th) will be allowed to vote on a request with each purchase greater than $2.00. - The top one to two requests (pending available funds) will be selected based on results from customer elections.
