Several direct-contact numbers are provided below. More will follow in a separate message to Washington State recipients only. - R'ykandar. ---------- On the night of January 17, following the earthquake in Los Angeles, Pat Robertson went on the 700 Club to announce that gay and lesbian people were responsible for the earthquake in California, the blizzards in the Northeast, the floods in the Midwest, the hurricane in Florida and the famine in Africa. He "reasoned" that these disasters were the judgment of "god" upon America because the Right Wing hasn't risen up and "done something about those gays." Laughable? No: He proceeded to collect $1.17 MILLION to do just that: "do something about those gays." Please call the toll-free Legislative Hotline and tell the operator you support HB 1443: 1-800-562-6000 When you call, tell the operator that you want to send messages to the following people telling them to support HB 1443: Your senator and representatives. The Governor. Senate Majority Leader, Marc Gaspard Senator Adam Smith (Law and Justice committee) Don't get discouraged if you don't get through right away; the hotline number is being flooded by the Right Wing. Keep trying! (Marc Gaspard's direct number is 206-786-7648. Adam Smith's direct number is 206-786-7664). Please call before February 3rd, or it will be too late.
