SHB 1443 would prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, and accomidation based on sexual orientation. By opposing SHB 1443, the Catholic Church is endorsing discrimination against a class of people. This also creates a subtle endorsement to hatred and violence toward gays and lesbians. We all know that Jesus Christ did not want any class of people to face discrimination or violence. We urge everyone to call the Washington State Catholic Conference at (206) 382-4821 and tell them that they are wrong in endorsing discrimination toward gays and lesbians.
