Law Forum BUILDING COALITIONS FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE - A Forum on the Sodomy Law in Virginia sponsored by Virginians for Justice and The Mount Vernon Unitarian Church Sunday, Oct. 23, 1994 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM The afternoon will begin with presentations and discussion of the Crimes Against Nature law's subtle and not-so-subtle impacts on Virginia citizens. Several experts on sodomy laws will contribute, including Del. Karen Darner (D-Arlington) who last year submitted HB1314, last year's attempt to legalize non-commercial, private, adult sexual behavior. James Lowe, an attorney who has handled child custody cases involving lesbian parents as well as CAN cases Clinton Anderson, American Psychological Association Attendees will consider the various strategies of nullifying Virginia's CAN law. The forum will stress the importance of coalition building and retaining momentum in the effort.
