First of all they are contacting the Utah Attorney General's office, urging the A.G. to declare the law invalid based on the time of it's passage. They will also be discussing plans for a "Olympics Out of Utah" campaign should the A.G.'s office decide the law is valid. *using the inclusive meaning of Gay: homosexual/bisexual/transgender 3) What's this about Utah getting the Olympics? A Salt Lake Olympic Bid Committee has been trying for years to get the Winter Olympics for Salt Lake. They have been lobbying extra hard for the past couple of years. A decision on the 2002 Winter Games will be made on June 16 in Budapest and Salt Lake is now one of only four cities left in the running for the 2002 Games. Salt Lake apparently is either the top contender or one of two top contenders for the bid, and plans are already being made in Salt Lake for the celebration in June. The Salt Lake bid committee seems pretty sure Salt Lake is finally going to be chosen as the site for the Winter Olympics. An ironic note: chefs from Salt Lake's Gastronomy Inc. (wonderful food, great Restaurants) prepared food for entertaining the International Olympic Committee while the Salt Lake Bid Committee and officials from Salt Lake were at the last Winter Olympics, held in Finland. The Chefs, their equipment and all of the food were flown from Salt Lake to Helsinki for several days of wonderful food to entertain the IOC. The owners of Gastronomy Inc. are "family."
