The Utah House Rules Committee has passed it on to the fiscal analysts. On 2/15/1995, the fiscal analysts have passed it back to the Rules committee. Unfortunately for us in Utah, we have no weekly gay newspaper. The next issue of the two gay papers come out one day before the state legislature ends its session. We need people, nationwide, to call and fax the Utah House of Representatives specifically asking for Representatives on the Rules and State and Local Affairs committee. The idea that if it happens easily in Utah and South Dakota, other states will immediately follow suit. These people are: RULES STATE AND LOCAL AFFAIRS John L Valentine Jordan Tanner Gerry A. Adair Blake D. Chard R. Lee Ellertson Brian R. Allen R. Mont Evans John B. Arrington Michael G. Waddoups Afton Bradshaw Melvin R. Brown R. Mont Evans Tom Hatch Bradley T Johnson Keele Johnson Sue Lockman Lowell Nelson David Ure Utah House Of Representatives Phone: (801) 538-1029 FAX: (801) 538-1908 please address the fax to one of the names above TALKING POINTS * The bill is premature. The Hawaii case hasn't been decided and won't be finally decided for 2 - 5 years. * The bill is a waste of precious time in the Utah state legislature. * There are more important things in this session such as getting a state budget finalized, crime prevention bills, and properly funding Utah's overwhelmed education system. * Will eventually cost the state of Utah hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees to defend the bill. * The publicity surrounding the bill will embarress the state, possibility limiting corporations from moving to Utah. ***** HB 366 RECOGNITION OF MARRAIGES 1995 GENERAL SESSION STATE OF UTAH Sponsor: Norm L.
