The plan encourages GLUD supporters to attend their neighborhood voting-precinct Democratic caucuses at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28 and be elected as a convention delegate or precinct officer. Caucus locations can be found by calling each county's Democratic Party. GLUD plans to host a Mock Caucus at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 at the Utah Stonewall Center at 770 South 300 West in Salt Lake City where people interested in becoming a delegate or officer for their first time can learn from political veterans. "During our first year in 1990, GLUD encouraged 27 Utahns to become delegates, and two years later, we helped 53 to be elected," GLUD Executive Director Dale Sorenson said. "This year, we hope to help a lot more people become delegates and officers and to be the largest and most powerful group at the 1994 Utah Democratic Primary Convention. The precinct-caucus process is the easiest way for bisexual, gay and lesbian people to get involved." Delegates choose Democratic nominees for public offices throughout the state and Congress. Officers meet four times a year as members of the party's county or state central committees and decide party policy. GLUD may be contacted for more information by calling (801)461-5058 or (800)864-0310. ***
