Date: Wed, 3 May 95 08:21:36 CDT From: pvw@ses.com (Paul von Wupperfeld) Subject: ACTION ALERT Everyone, I wanted to inform you of an event this Wednesday evening (May 3) that you might want to attend. My pastor, Rev. Charles Moore, of Grace United Methodist Church, has sent a statement to all of the bishops of the United Methodist Church, who are gathered in Austin this week, asking them to call for the removal of all language in United Methodist documents that discriminates against anyone because of their sexual orientation. In addition to this statement, Rev. Moore has gone on a fast (this is his second week) to show his concern for this issue. Tomorrow night, at 7:30 p.m., there will be a vigil for Rev. Moore, and for this issue, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (14311 Wells Port Drive). Directions: go north on IH-35, exit Wells Branch Parkway and turn left. The church is just across the freeway at the first intersection. The vigil is being sponsored by PFLAG, Faiths United, and several United Methodist ministers who are sympathetic to our cause. I urge you to attend to show your support, if possible. t doesn't matter what religion, if any, you practice. We just need warm bodies to show solidarity. Please pass this message on to any other gays/lesbians, and gay-lesbian friendly people you know. If you have any questions, call me at home at 512/928-8386. Thanks, Andy Smith President, Log Cabin/Austin
