Submitted by: Gillian Rodger Submitted on: December 13, 1993 I was alarmed to learn in a recent NOW newsletter that one of the University of Pittsburgh's board of trustees has renewed his efforts to overturn the introduction of providing benefits to same sex domestic partners of faculty and staff. These benefits have only been introduced in the last year and not without opposition from the likes of Jim Flaherty, who is threatening them yet again. The newsletter suggested a letter writing campaign to the university to voice support, especially as Flaherty has stated that he does not feel that "the people of Westen Pennsylvania should be associated with the cause." If anyone in the general vicinity (or from elsewhere) feels inclined to write the university's address is: University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA 15260. I guess it should be addressed to the board of trustees, or to the chancellor.
