Network of Unity Coalitions (PNUC) are very much aware of Ed Foster's KKK activities in Allegheny County and the Pittsburgh area. If indeed he has secured a permit for an April march/rally, we will be in touch with many local folks and interested parties statewide also to ensure the existence of peaceful countermeasures, whatever it takes. "...the Pennsylvania Network of Unity Coalitions believes in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual and our right to live free of harassment and discrimination. We seek to establish a network within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that promotes a climate of respect, harmony, and justice by promoting respect for differences and repudiating acts of violence and intimidation." For more information, contact the PNUC, which is comprised of a number of local unity coalitions throughout Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania Network of Unity Coalitions 414 South Craig Street, Suite 210 Pittsburgh, PA 15213 or call us at: 1-800-865-8586 Louise Doskow, Board Member PNUC <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> There was a big meeting Thursday evening planning for the rally. Billy Hileman, publisher & editor of Planet Q, PlanetQ@aol.com, should be up to date even if he didn't attend. Also Tim Stevens, President of the Pittsburgh Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, who is leading on organizing some of these meetings, although I suspect that the ministerial association of the African American churches is also strongly into it. The Gammage murder, mistrial for two police officers, and acquittal of the Police Officer Vojtas has energized mobilization in Pittsburgh. We may soon be meetinged out. But April 5th should be easy. We won't have to charter buses. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> We're still in the midst of deciding what we wish to do. The Coalition to Counter Hate Groups sponsored a meeting to discuss the situation, and further meetings are planned. No specifics are available to the general public, however. --Chris Young Chris Young, State Chair cycy@ri.cmu.edu League of Gay and Lesbian Voters http://www.woodworks.com/lglv/ 5819-B Forward Ave. Pittsburgh, Pa 15217 (412) 421-4470 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Margaret Andrus Heineman http://www.critpath.org/~maggie/ Bridges-Across Website http://www.critpath.org/bridges-across/ "Tiny ripples of hope...from a million different centers of daring and energy will change the world" Robert F.
