The Tulsa Human Rights Commission has recommended changing the city anti-discrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation. However the City Council is refusing to even let the recommendation come before them for a vote( because of right wing influence) stating that the issue isn't even worthy of their time, but the Mayor can force them to review the recommendation. While most of you won't benefit directly from the passage of this ordinance we all benefit in the long run by having our rights as gay people affirmed, no matter the size of the city or state. I would appreciate letters of support for passage of this ordinance and also let the mayor know we can boycott Tulsa as a "hate city" much as we did Colorado as a "hate state". Send letters to: Mayor Susan Savage 200 Civic Center Tulsa, OK We have to stick together to be effective. Thanks, Mike
