On July 20, 1993 Representrative Fox introduced legislation in the Ohio Hous of Represenatives that would prohibit state universities and colleges form opening "family housing" to same sex couples (by listing who could live in such housing) and prohibiting the universities and colleges from providing insurance coverage to same sex partners of employees. The Bill follows. Rep. Fox recinded earlier legislation to the same affect when Sen Watts added an amendment to the Budget that would prohibit same sex couples in family housing. The Watts amendment was removed in conference committee and the budget was passed without the amendment. The co-sponsers of the bill are listed in the bill below. As soon as I know which committee this will be referred to, and who sits on that committee, I will send out a message. in the meantime, you can write to any of the co-sponsers at: The Riffe Center 77 S.
