Subject: Tarheel Tidbits Date: Tue, 8 Feb 1994 08:45:37 -0500 (EST) From: anon@queernet.org (Anonymous Sender) And now the latest news and gossip from the Old North State. The Republican Party is holding their annual precinct meetings at the regular polling places tonight, 8 Feb., at 7 p.m. The agenda includes electing new precinct officials and organizational planning for the 1994 election cycle. The Democratic Party holds its precinct meetings on 3 Mar. at 7 p.m. Delegates to the county coventions, to be held 16 Apr., will be elected. Precinct meeting traditionally are low turnout events. If you show up, you can easily be elected as a precinct official and convention delegate. Occasionally resolutions are presented at the precinct level and your vote really can make a difference. Attend your party's precinct meetings and make a difference. And that is the way it is in North Carolina, my home state. -YHT
