  The NY State Senate is again under pressue to consider the Sexual
Orientation Non-discrimination Bill, S. 1890. Letters, phone calls, and
constituent visits are needed. Local constituent pressure is vial to the
effort to pass this bill which bans discrimination against Lesbian and Gay
people. Contacting senators who are already supportive is equally important
as contacting undecided or nonsupportive ones.

To determine who is your State Senator, contact either the League of
Women's Voters by calling 800-836-6975 or call the Pride Agenda at
212-673-5417. The Senate switchboard will also direct your call if
necessary.

1.  Call your State Senator several times a week from now until the end of
the session in early July. Call the central switchboard in Albany and ask
to be connected to your Senator's office. The Senate's central number is:
518-455-2800.

2. Call Senate Majority Leader Ralph Marino several times a week in Albany
at 518-455-2800. Urge him to show leadership and let the bill come to the
Senate floor for an open and fair vote.

3. Call Senate Majoirty Leader Ralph Marino every Friday at his Oyster Bay,
Long Island office. His number there is 516-922-1811. Make this call every
Friday.

4. Copy this information for 10 friends and distribute it. Urge them to
take action.
