Date: Wed, 1 Feb 1995 21:55:36 -0500 (EST) From: David Casti Subject: ACTION ALERT: NYS AG Turns Back Rights Submitted by: COMSERVLP@aol.com Empire State Pride Agenda, NY's lesbian and gay political organization, urges you to act immediately. NYS Attorney General Dennis Vacco has abolished protections for lesbians and gays working in his office. (This is the man who beat out lesbian Karen Burstein in last year's election.) His office has had a longstanding policy prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. Vacco has now issued an executive order specifically excising "sexual orientation" as a protected category. This officially sanctions discrimination against lesbians and gay men. Vacco is the state's highest law enforcement official. He has relinquished his role as an advocate for justice and equality for all.
