Subject:      Lesbian and gay special issue, NY Folklore

New York Folklore, the journal of the New York Folklore
Society, is devoting an entire issue to the study of lesbian
and gay traditions and culture.  The special issue, entitled
Prejudice and Pride: Lesbian and Gay Traditions in America
and edited by outgoing New York Folklore editors Deborah
Blincoe and John Forrest, is the first in the field of
folklore to focus exclusively on gay and lesbian matters.

Unfortunately, it will almost but not quite be ready before
AFS.  We hope to have a volume of proofs there for perusal
at the New York Folklore Society/City Lore display table,
and it should be released in December.  (For those of you
who have already ordered copies, we apologize for the
delays.) The price is $12.95 plus shipping.  Or it comes as a benefit
of membership in the NYFS ($35 basic, $50 institutional).
