The University of New Mexico's Domestic Partnership program may be in trouble.
Recently UNM's internal department ruled that denying spousal benefits to
same-sex partners violated UNM's non-discrimination clause. So it was
announced that UNM would, very shortly, provide benefits for persons
properly applying through personal. 

Well, the RR saw this and is now leading an effort to stop
this before it ever gets started. The local radio station, KLYT, is
 asking all their listeners to call the Office of the President
before thursday to voice their opposition to it. Thursday is when UNM has
an internal meeting scheduled for the top administration to discuss the
Domestic Partnership program. 

We need your help!!! Please call the Office of the President to
to voice ur support for this program. Tell them that discrimination
will not be tolerated on UNM's campus by anyone and that
denying benefits to lesbian & gay people is wrong. The phone number to call
is 505-277-2626. Please call before thursday. Lets swamp them with positive
calls and counter the KLYT effort.
