The goal of the workshop is to develop strategies that could be used at other campuses and to help people who are just beginning the discussion with their administrators. Participation is open to faculty, staff and administrators. Although the focus will be predominately the campus setting, industrial participation is also welcomed. Scope of the Workshop --------------------- This workshop will focus on the experiences at a number of campuses to obtain DP benefits. By sharing our successes and our failures, we can learn from each other and make it easier for all of us. We hope to bring together a wide range of people working to obtain DP benefits on their campuses and administrators responsible for benefits programs. Objectives ---------- 1) Study those campuses where DP benefits have been obtained to find out what works and what doesn't. 2) Develop a strategy that focuses on negotiation rather than confrontation or litigation. 3) Institute a national clearinghouse for information on the DP benefits struggle. Intended Audience ----------------- 1) Administrators responsible for employee benefits packages. 2) Faculty and staff who would like to organize on their campuses.
