With legal marriages come marriage licenses. This advertisement acknowledges that no official document from the State of Nevada will be received. DPs in other parts of the country and RBs in Hawai`i carry more legal weight. This so-called "Same-Sex Marriage" is nothing more than a commitment ceremony, and should be advertised correctly. Aloha Folks, I see nothing fraudulent in this advertisement/notice that was sent to many interested in marriage ceremonies. (See note below that some have said is fradulent). The author and distributors of the original notice never say it is a legal marriage. In fact they state it is not legally recognized. It just says it is a marriage ceremony that is used for legal marriage. The Hawaii Gay Marriage Bureau - fully recognized legally as program name of the GLEA Foundation has been issuing same-sex marriage certificates since 1997 to couples who are married in ceremonies performed by licensed ministers. All the documents note that it was a real marriage, but not a legally recognized one. There are at least two forms of marriages - religious, ceremonial, and . . . legally recognized ones. The Hawaii Gay Marriage Bureau was established as a registry of couples desiring to get married or have been married (not yet legally recognized) . . . and a registry of licensed ministers and marriage officiants to help promote the connection of the two, promote visibility for Gay marriage, and to promote information network for those most concerned and impacted by the efforts for legal marriage. For more information on the Hawaii Gay Marriage Bureau please contact us at our address: HawaiiGay1@AOL.COM. do good William E. For example Prositution has been legal in serveral counties in Nevada for years. In 1997 a bill recognizing Same Sex Marriages was suppose to be introduced to the legislature. Several conservitive groups successfully lobbied against the introduction of the bill. So the bill was never introduced. Divine Madness Fantasy Wedding Chapels will perform Same Sex Marriage Ceremonies. Although the marriage is not recognized by the state of Nevada. We would ask the State of Nevada to maintain its long standing tradition of individual rights. By going through the ceremony we hope to convice the Nevada Legislature the need to introduce the Same Sex Marriage Act.
