The Michigan Organization for Human Rights conducted a survey
surveyed lesbians in 1991 and found that
"Respondents were highly educated: Two-thirds had graduated from college, and
one fourth held graduate or professioanl degrees; only 8% had not post-high
school education. Despite the high livels of education, incomes were
relatively low, with the median income n the $20,000 to $25,000 range.
Gross annual income
< $10,000 18%
$10,000-$19,999 26%
$20,000-$29,999 26%
$30,000-$39,000 18%
>$40,000 12% "

This is not surprising, since women are generally paid
less than men. Two women have less earning power than
a man and a woman.

The survey also dealt with issues about lesbians and AIDS and
included a question about number of sexual partners.
64% had had one partner in the past year
12% had had two
6% had had three
3% had had four or five
2% had had over five
12% had had none
could possibly be helpful if the myth of gay promiscuity rears
its ugly head

I remember responding to the survey, but don't know details about
methods etc. If you think it might be of use, contact
