Please proceed very cautiously with the "facts" as it is not entirely clear what the facts are. We are a seriously under-studied population and the research that does exist is sometimes contradictory. The Michigan Organization for Human Rights conducted a survey of Michigan lesbians in 1991, which found that "Respondents were highly educated: Two thirds had graduated from college, and one fourth held graduate or professional degrees; only 8 percent had no post-high school education. **Despite the high levels of education, incomes were relatively low, with the median income in the 20,000 to 25,000 range." It may well be the case that gay *men* have higher incomes--it would make sense since men get paid more than women in almost every job, but at least in Michigan, it's not true for us dykes.
