Where: Augusta Civic Center Why: To show your opposition to Concerned Maine Families pro-discrimination referendum What to bring: 5 of your friends, family members. (We will provide signs and buttonstons) On Tuesday, May 2nd the Judiciary Committee will accept testimony at a public hearing on LD 310. This is the initiated bill on the referendum. After hearing testimony the Judiciary Committee will recommend that the bill Ought to pass (which is not likely to happen) or Ought to pass. An 0ught Not to Pass recommendation means that the full.House and Senate are almost certain to refer this bill out to the voters. (The only two choices are to enact it or refer it out to the voters). We will see it on the ballot in November. It is very important to send a strong message to the legislature and to the to the general public that we oppose this referendum!
