Black History Month Celebrated

Berdache LesBiGay Archives will present a display celebrating Black History
through the month of February at the Wichita Lesbian and Gay Community
Center.  The exhibit will feature celebrated Black Gay and Lesbian people,
examine the debate about the intersection between the African American and
Gay and Lesbian rights movements, and give an introduction to precolonial
African History.

Berdache is a collection of people dedicated to preserving the hidden history
of gay, lesbian, bisexual , transgender and HIV affected people and education
about that history in the context of the larger history of oppressed peoples.

The Center is located at 111 N. Spruce and is open Wednesday through Saturday
6:00 pm to 10:00 pm or by appointment.  Call 262-3991 for more information.
