The group, called Project Equal, will work to educate the campus community about the realities of discrimination against Lesbian and Gay students and to propose solutions to the problems presented by such discrimination. Project Equal will also work at providing a safe and supportive environment for Gay and Lesbian students on the Washburn campus by holding educational seminars, inviting speakers to address issues of concern and by advocating policies and laws that ensure equal protection for Lesbian and Gay students. Project Equal is an officially recognized student organization on campus. History professor Bill Cecil-Fronsman and social work professor Dr.Nancie Palmer will serve as faculty advisors for the group. ========================================================== Permission granted by the News-Telegraph for distribution to the EKS email list (equalityks@qiclab.scn.rain.com), and archiving in the Queer Resources Directory (QRD) on the Internet (http://vector.casti.com/QRD).
