Greg Louganis, Michelangelo Signorile, Brenda and Wanda Henson, Lani Ka'ahumanu and Tim Wise will all be available for you to meet and listen to as they tell you their stories in both lecture and workshop settings. On Saturday, April 8 there will be a pride march in downtown Lawrence, beginning at 6th and Massachusetts Streets and ending with a rally and picnic at South Park. Join us as we rock the Midwest with the strongest showing of LesBiGay pride it's ever seen. Later that night, things heat up even more with our Queer and Queer-Friendly Prom in the Kansas Union Ballroom. It's the prom you never had! Tickets for Greg Louganis's speech may be purchased by sending a $10 money order or cashier's check per ticket (please do not send cash) payable to LesBiGayS OK. Seating is limited, so reserve early! In addition, Michelangelo Signorile's lecture will be will be on a voucher system (free advance tickets to control overcrowding); please notify us if you would like vouchers. Tickets and vouchers can be held for you at the Student Union Activities (SUA) box office, located on the 4~h floor of the Kansas Union. They may be picked up during Awareness Week or purchased there if you happen to be in Lawrence. All other LesBiGay Awareness Week activities are completely free! The Lawrence Holiday Inn Holidome is our official hotel for Awareness Week '95 and is offering special group rates. $68 gets you a room in which you can have up to 4 people, which works out to $17 per person. Mention the code letters "G.A.Y." for the hotel's computer to access our group rate. Reservations can be made by phoning (913) 841-7077. The Holidome is located just south of Interstate 70, West Lawrence exit, and is just a short drive from the University of Kansas campus. Meals may be purchased at any on-campus dining facility. Less than a mile from campus is Massachusetts Street, the Midwest's best-preserved historic downtown. Be sure to check out the plethora of fabulous restaurants between 6th and 11th Streets along Massachusetts. Most are very queer friendly, with something for every budget and palate! Also, downtown offers great nightlife with loads of live music of every style. Speaking of live music, SUA and the Lied Center of Kansas will be presenting the Indigo Girls with their Swamp Ophelia tour on Saturday, April 1.
