A CONFERENCE IS BREWING!! The Kansas State University Student Governing Association recently appropriated funding to KSU's Bisexual & Gay & Lesbian Association (BAGALS) for a conference on L/G/B issues. As a result, plans are already underway for the conference which will be: MARCH 4 & 5, 1994 ----------------- Briefly, our goals are: -Inform KSU, Manhattan and Surrounding areas of the gay, lesbian & bisexual culture -Provide information & support for our gay/bisexual/lesbian friends -bring area homosexual and heterosexual communities closer together. Our 'rough draft' overview of events include: -Workshops/seminars on issues such as 'homosexuality in the church', 'homophobia: a tool of perpetuating sexism', 'building successful same-gender relationships', 'empowerment: taking back what is yours to keep', 'homosexuality & the radical religious right', and more. -A speaker's panel of bisexual/gay/lesbian representatives. -A KSU theatrical production by a gay playwright. -A social event on Saturday evening, complete with music by local g/l/b musicians -A special church service on Sunday. -A g/l/b cultural awareness area, featuring tables with materials such as gay art, gay books, magazines & newsletters, music, t-shirts and other sellables, questionnaires and sign-up sheets, and YOUR MATERIAL.
