Cheap/Clean lodging abounds in the area ($20-30/night) This is a version of a letter sent to organizations around the state. The letter has been edited for clarity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Friends, We are sending this notice to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender organizations as well as the HIV/AIDS resource agencies throughout Iowa. We are urging you to send representatives from your group and/or community to a statewide meeting on Saturday, July 8. The main purpose of this meeting is to establish a functioning statewide network in response to the recent anti-gay action of the extreme right. Iowans have accomplished a lot in the past fifteen years toward winning equal rights for lesbian, gay and bisexual people. Seeing this fine work sabotaged would be tragic. Please help counter the lies and scapegoating currently being spewed by adding your presence and input to this very important meeting. We can return Iowa to the path toward realizing our full equal rights, but it will require our considerable effort and commitment. Looking forward to seeing you there. Due to privacy considerations, please reply to the poster for contact numbers. -- ______Tina M.
