Let me thank you for responding to our previous call to action. Today I spoke with the Illinois Federation for Human Rights (IFHR). The chief sponsors, Senators David Barkhausen and Bruce Farley were "surprised" at the number of calls, faxes and letters they received in support of Senate Bill 994, which would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in employment, housing, and public accomodations. We now move to the next phase: The Senate Executive Committee. We need one "yes" vote from the three senators listed below. Passage out of committee is imperative to advance to the Senator floor. The bill died in committee last year. Please call all 3 senators below and ask them to "support Senate Bill 994 which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation". Remember, calling or writing letters to the Senators is first priority. You may reach them at: IFHR 3712 - N.
