The pamphlet contains the short text that will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot regarding Propostion One, the anti-gay initiative along with articles pro and con for the initiative. It also contains the full text of the proposition as it would become Idaho law if passed. EVERY VOTER MUST CHOOSE Here it is folks. Image this on the ballot in your state ... and ask yourself how you would feel if you had to fight this thing. Then send a check to Idaho. If we can stop it here ... it's just that better to keep it away from your state. ================================================ PROPOSITION ONE An Act Establishing State Policies Regarding Homosexuality Initiative relating to homosexuality and the state's authority to afford homosexuals minority status; enacting a new chapter, chap. 80, title 67, Idaho Code: providing that no state agency, department or political subdivision shall grant minority status to persons who engage in homosexual behavior; providing that same-sex marriages and domestic partnerships shall not be legally recognized; providing that elementary and secondary school educators shall not discuss homosexuality as acceptable behavior; providing that no state funds shall be expended in a manner that has the effect of accepting or approving homosexuality; limiting to adults access to library materials which address homosexuality; providing that private sexual practices may be considered non-job factors in public employement; and providing a severability clause. Shall the above-entitled measure proposed by Proposition One be approved? ARGUMENT IN FAVOR -- SUMMARY Written by ultra-conservative state senator Jerry Thorne, it contains: * Claims that the liberal media and homosexual activists are lying distorting the proposition * Claims that homosexuals want special rights * Mentions reverse discrimination and quotas * Claims to stop gays from getting "minority status" * Safeguards "the family" * Protects Idaho's children from being indoctinated in public schools to believe that homosexual behavior is "normal" or "healthy" * Stops the state from financing homosexual propaganda by homosexual activists ARGUMENT AGAINST -- SUMMARY Written by Brian Bergquist, co-chair of the No On One Coalition. * Almost all state leaders have opposed Prop. 1 -- mentions bi-partisan opposition * It is unconstitutional and will cost taxpayers millions * Mentions statements by Rep.
