Subject: No On One Idaho Ad

The following is a print ad by Idaho's No On One
Coalition running in newspapers this week before
the Nov. 8 election on the anti-gay Proposition 1.
====================================
ALL OF US ...
ARE VOTING NO ON PROPOSITION 1.

League of Women Voters of Idaho
Idaho Library Association
Governor Andrus
Republican Phil Batt (candidate for governor)
Democrat Larry EchoHawk (candidate for governor)
Both candidates for Attorney General
Senators Craig and Kempthorne
Congressman LaRocco and Crapo

DON'T AGREE ON MUCH

But every single one of them, Democrat and Republican,
is voting No on Proposition 1.

They believe Proposition 1 is extreme, unnecessary,
unconstitutional and will lead to more government interference
in our lives. And it will cost millions of taxpayer dollars to
implement.

Everyone is voting No on Proposition 1.

Vote No on Proposition 1.
Too much government. Not enough Idaho.

"Taken as a whole, this initiative's provisions violate both
the United States and the Idaho Constitutions."
-- Larry EchoHawk, Idaho Attorney General

"The first thing the Republican Party believes in is individual
freedom and tolerance. People ought to be able to lead their
personal lives any way they want, as long they're not hurting
other people."
-- Hailey Barbour, Republican Naitonal Committee Chairman

"Our law does not provide "special rights" for homosexuals.
I won't be signing the initiative."
-- Phil Batt, Republican Gubernatorial candidate

"We believe that the people of Idaho should have the freedom
to decide for themselves what they and their children read,
see and hear ... If Proposition 1 were to pass, implementation
would be both costly ($26 million) and complicated for all of
Idaho's publicly supported libraries."
-- Idaho Library Association

"Singling out some people for discrimination is the kind of
intolerance that Idaho has rejected before and must reject
again. In addition, Proposition 1 will cost us millions of
taxpayer dollars and result in unnecessary government involvement
in everybody's lives."
-- Lynn Mineur, President, League of Women Voters of Idaho
