		REFORT FROM A DC PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISER

REPORT:
i went to a fundraiser for neil abercrombie last night here in dc.  one of
the most moving moments was when he interupted his own pitch to make one for
hermp.  i have been to countless congressional fundraisers and have never
seen a member do this before.  neil was already high on my list of truly good
people, but he just went up a couple of more notches.  you are very fortunate
to have him as your congressman.

		     CHALLENGE GRANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 	A prominent Japanese-American businessman has challenged both 
h.e.r.m.p and the Honolulu chapter of JACL with $2500 each in matching grants.
Conditions:  1)he'll match the first $50 of donations which are $50 or higher
             2)the donations must be from Hawaii residents
             3)the campaign ends July 31
             4)the total match is $2500 for each organization
Donations to h.e.r.m.p (please check about JACL) are tax-deductible.  Donations
to h.e.r.m.p can be mailed to 1521 Alexander St., #503, Honolulu, HI 96822

	This businessman was quite pleased to learn of the ads organized by
JACL and ACLU in the newspapers, opposing the constitutional amendments
to ban same-gender marriage.  This is his way to help, and to build stronger
local organizations.  PLEASE HELP!
