Received from gwyn@thunder.indstate.edu Sun May 8 22:17:55 1994 Subject: (fwd) Gay & Lesbian Media PRESS RELEASE Summary: Voices out front Gay and Lesbian media professionals ############# Press Release ############# For Immediate Release Voices Out Front has formed in Atlanta to primarily service the media needs of lesbian and gay, and gay friendly organizations. Besides being project oriented, V.O.F. provides many professional networking opportunities to members through monthly meetings, newsletters and guest speakers. The group is comprised of gay men and lesbians currently working in video, film, TV, radio, print and support services. The idea is to establish a "clearinghouse" to assist groups in creating responsible and ethical media for and about our community. Regular meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7pm at 'The Otherside' on Piedmont Rd. Please join us. The group has several projects that involve the production of video material for television and for distribution to lawmakers and other organizations. One such project involves the production of a response to 'The Gay Agenda' , a program that the 700 club aired that portrayed the gay community in a very distorted and inaccurate way. In order to continue this important work, we need your help. You are welcome to join us either in person or by mail. A $30 donation is encouraged. VOF is also looking to join forces with similar organizations in other cities and communities. Please contact us if you would like more information.
