US GOVERNMENT LIFTS FOREIGN SERVICE BAN

WASHINGTON (Aug 21 GayNet)-- The US State Department has added sexual
orientation to its employment non-discrimination policy, the
employee-rights group Gays & Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agency reports.
Franklin Kameney, a longtime gay rights activist and expert on goverment
employment practices, called the revised policy ``a very welcome and long
overdue, 180 degree reversal'' of federal policies of the past.
